Some rewards won't show up if you join on your birthday. I'd join two to four weeks early when you can.

Birthday freebies aren't all the same
A restaurant may give you a meal or dessert. A shop may add a gift or credit to your account. A coffee shop may put a reward in its app.
Read the rules before you go. You may need to join early, make an earlier purchase or show photo ID. Some shops don't take part even when the brand has a birthday offer.
We mark offers that need a purchase. We also show when an offer is a discount instead of a free gift.
Plan your day
Make a simple birthday route
Start two to four weeks before your birthday. Join the programs you plan to use. Add the right birth date and finish any steps the program asks for.
A few days before your birthday, check your email, app and junk folder. Put nearby stops together. Check hours and call the shop when the rules are not clear.
